How does wind power get delivered to the grid? How much of the nation’s energy demand can be supplied by wind power, and how much of that might come from the Midwest? What do the birds and bats think about all this?

Natalie McIntire is an independent consultant working on high voltage transmission policy for renewable energy and green power policy. She is currently working with the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and Wind on the Wires, focusing on federal regulatory proceedings, transmission planning, and renewable energy credit policy.

Prior to her current work, Ms. McIntire was a Senior Policy Associate for the Renewable Northwest Project in Portland, OR. In that position, she worked on transmission policy in the Northwest, advocated for strong utility green power programs, and educated consumers about renewable energy. She was also involved in improving Oregon’s Net Metering rules.

Natalie McIntire holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a M.A. degree in the History of Science and Technology from the University of Minnesota, and a graduate certificate in Applied Energy Economics and Policy from the University of Portland, Oregon.
