Tour of Kwik Trip Food Preparation and Distribution Facility

Kwik Trip/Kwik Star is a chain of convenience stores founded in 1965 with locations throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota under the name Kwik Trip, and in northeast Iowa under the name Kwik Star (to avoid confusion with QuickTrip). The company also operates stores under the name Hearty Platter and Tobacco Outlet Plus. Kwik Trip, Inc. is a privately held company headquartered in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and has more than 350 locations under its various names.

Kwik Trip’s mission is to serve its customers and community more effectively than anyone else by treating their customers,
co-workers, and suppliers as they, personally, would like to be treated and to make a difference in someone's life.

Meeting their mission in the food service business requires a cold chain better than any other in the industry. On Thursday September 23rd, Kwik Trip has given us the opportunity to tour their state of the art food preparation and distribution facility in La Crosse. The 155,000 square foot distribution center includes food preparation, preservation and packaging facilities which require numerous HVAC&R equipment and systems to operate smoothly. The tour is planned to include the ammonia refrigeration plant, ice cube production facility and freeze / cool facility amongst others. We will be meeting with Facility Director Brad Clarken with tours led by several key HVAC technicians.
