Where did all the money go?
ASHRAE Research has come a long way (since 1919) in advancing the arts and sciences of HVAC&R from the humble beginnings to a current $2 million annual budget. The fund helped conducted 70~80 research projects at once. Active and recently completed research projects and grants add up to 1.38 million dollars to our ASHRAE Region VI. That’s multiple folds of money coming back to our region. Although projects can span over multiple years, the amount money that feeds into our region is truly significant. Projects and grants funded by ASHRAE research range on topics from “Development of real-time particle tracking velocimetry (PVT) system for measurement of indoor pollutant transport” to “Thermal-fluid behavior of mixed refrigerants for cryogenic applications”.

Little gifts BIG difference
Through people like you ASHRAE raised $2.5 million in 2014-2015. Most donations were less than $250. Remember, the more donors the better, and even a little bit of money matters.

Double the effort
Some companies match donations made by employees dollar-to-dollar. Your $100 dollar donation becomes $200 in the research fund. If your organization shares the same vision in supporting ASHRAE Research, please do not hesitate to let us know so that we can encourage your employees to donate.

Saying “THANK YOU!” is the most important thing as a Research Promotion chair. We thank all of the past donors for your support of ASHRAE Research. Without your support, the research effort will not be able to advance. If you have not had a chance to donate to ASHRAE Research in the past, or maybe you forgot to donate in recent years, please consider using this year as your starting (new) point of a gift giving journey to ASHRAE.
